Transmission & Distribution Engineer Qualifications & Requirements
Technical Skills
- •Proficiency in PSS/E, CYME, CYMDIST, or PowerWorld for load flow and fault analysis
- •Understanding of transmission planning, distribution planning, and interconnection processes
- •Knowledge of NERC reliability standards (FAC, MOD, TPL) and FERC Order 2023
- •Familiarity with NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) and IEEE standards
- •Experience with pole loading, sag-tension calculations, and line design software
- •4-10 years of T&D engineering experience
- •PE license preferred or EIT pursuing licensure
